TELECOM Service Centre’s contract win with a leading financial services provider is turning out to be one of the best pieces of employment news in Aviemore this year.

TSC have confirmed that their 60-strong workforce in Aviemore is to more than DOUBLE as they get up to full speed with their new client.
This is an astonishing turnaround from just before Christmas when the whole operation looked under threat after previous client the Royal Bank of Scotland announced they were ending their contract with the Aviemore-based contact centre.
Now, not only are the present jobs safe, TSC are putting their recruitment drive into top gear as the new contract gets underway.

Gordon McDowall is the senior TSC manager tasked with ensuring the new Aviemore project is up to full speed as quickly as possible and he is delighted at the progress made.

“Over 30 new local people have already joined the existing team in Aviemore,” said Gordon and the good news is that we are now looking for another 50. This is a tremendous employment boost for the whole area.
“The good thing is that our new client’s needs are in the financial services sector and I know for a fact there are a lot of people with that expertise in the area – as they have worked with us before.
“Maybe they left to start a family or to continue their education. But if their circumstances have changed, there is a great chance that we could bring them back into the TSC fold and use their tele-banking experience.”

TSC have a number of vacancies across a wide range of shifts covering full-time and part-time jobs and weekend and evening shifts.

“The variety of the shifts will suit a lot of people for different reasons,” said Gordon. Part-time work at the weekend or in the evenings may be ideal for students - or anyone else looking to earn some extra cash to supplement their income.
“We are thrilled that our faith in the skills and expertise of our Aviemore staff was rewarded with this new contract win.
“This brings not only job stability and security to our present workforce but offers the whole area a great employment boost.”

TSC are Scotland’s largest contract centre company with over 3000 employees. As well as Aviemore they operate in six other Scottish locations - the Isle of Lewis, Larbert, Glasgow, Rothesay, Greenock and Dunoon – and have an operation in England in Yorkshire’s Dearne Valley.
